The Never Ending Roller Cancer Coaster Ride

Just when things are looking up after “my cancer in the neck” scare, I went to see my heart doctor for an appointment yesterday… only to discover that my heart is not doing so hot. Re-emergence of heart failure again (2% chance of that happening, but since it already happened before, I’m a prime candidate). He’s not liking what he saw on my echocardiogram and is going to send me for a Cardiac MRI in about 1 1/2 months time (the waiting list is that long) to see what kind of damage the chemo has done to my heart. In the meantime, he wants me to get on another heart medication (ACE inhibitor) on top of the Bisopherol I’m currently taking, which I don’t really want to do. I told him I was going to try to improve it with exercise, although he “Strongly Advised” that I take the new med.  I think he thinks I’m going to have a heart attack.

I kind of knew something was going on with my heart because I can feel it flutter now every morning when I wake up and it seems to run like crazy at times. One night last week I kept waking up because it was beating so fast. He told me to get into Emergency if that happens again. Today I was VERY aware of every nuance of my heart which made me even more anxious.

Sometimes I wonder if the stress of all these doctors telling me what’s wrong with me will kill me first!

Frick and Frack are adjusting well to their new school.  Frick made it to the Soccer Team and is thrilled and Frack is content and, according to his teacher, is thriving at school.

I’m in the process of making a short 3 minute movie/digital storytelling at Gilda’s Club.  It might be ready by next week if I can get it done on Tuesday….I post it on my blog soon if you want to see it.

They might put it on Gilda’s Club Web-site too (if I give them permission)….we shall see.
